MMI- operating and display unit front

By way of the function selector switch, in the Tyre Pressure submenu the tyre pressure monitoring system can be deactivated and reactivated and the current tyre pressures stored.

The tyre inflation pressure, wheel electronics and temperature measured values are indicated with the relevant positions.

The MMI includes a fault message: System fault - tyre pressure monitoring.

Manufacturer works number

The manufacturer works code

freely selected, e.g. "000" can be entered if necessary.

Manufacturer serial no. is 4-digit and provides unique identification of the control unit.

Wheel electronics for tyre pressure monitoring

How to check the wheel electronics

1.   Find the affected sensor:

Set all wheel electronics units, one after the other, to transmission status  2, i.e. let air out of the relevant wheel (pressure gradient > 0.2 bar/min). The corresponding wheel electronics unit is then displayed with status 2 in MVB 16.

If, after deflating the tyre on one of the wheels, no wheel electronics unit is at transmission status 2, the defective wheel electronics unit is on that wheel.

2. Replace the affected sensor!

Readout in measured value block 16:

e.g. 0.001.009.830 Status 01h UB. OK 2.05bar

i.e. the wheel electronics is at transmission status 1 and is transmitting a signal to the control unit approx. every 54 seconds.

e.g. 0.001.009.830 Status 02h UB. OK 2.05bar

i.e. the wheel electronics is at transmission status 2 and is transmitting a signal to the control unit approx. every … seconds.

If no signal could be received from the control unit, read the fault memory.
