Activating/deactivating loading mode

Function description:

The vehicle suspension is set to LIFT mode. As soon as the vehicle suspension is in LIFT mode the vehicle level is locked, and can no longer be changed on the MMI.

Procedure:

Activation:

Self-diagnosis

Address word 34 (adaptive suspension)

·    Function 16 Access authorisation

·    Key-in code 10273 and confirm with Q key

The yellow fault lamp on the dash panel insert lights and

fault 00219 Loading level active is entered in the fault memory.

Deactivation:

Self-diagnosis

Address word 34 (adaptive suspension)

·    Funktion 16 Access authorisation

·    Key-in code 41172 and confirm with Q key

The yellow fault lamp on the dash panel insert goes out and

fault 00219 Loading level active is automatically cleared from the fault memory.

J197- Adaptive suspension control unit

a

Fitting location: The control unit is fitted behind the glove box on the front bulkhead.

 Determining the height x:

a

The height x is the value in mm between the centre of the wheel and the bottom edge of the wing (see documents).

Dimension a: Rim diameter

Dimension b: Top edge of rim to bottom edge of wing

The height which must subsequently be entered is produced as follows:

x = a:2 + b

Standard running gear (1BK):

Specification, front axle = 416 mm

Specification, rear axle = 398 mm

Sports running gear (2MA):

Specification, front axle = 396 mm

Specification, rear axle = 378 mm

Sports running gear S8 (2MB):

Specification, front axle = 396 mm

Specification, rear axle = 378 mm

The MMI operating unit is located on the high centre console between the gearshift and the centre console.

a

-1- Joystick: The subfunctions are selected and activated by turning and pressing the joystick control.

-2- CAR  function button: Pressing the CAR function button calls up the adaptive air suspension menu, from which the various vehicle levels can be selected;

see picture.

-3- SETUP function button:

Pressing the SETUP function button again in CAR

mode toggles between

I trailer mode (On/Off) and

I jack mode (On/Off).
