Outside temperature display too low, AC cools or heats

Problem
Outside temperature display shows intermittently too low values, undefined cooling or heating of the air conditioning.

Technical background
1. Insulating deposit (oil film) on the contacts of the outside temperature sensor.
2. Poor crimping of the sensor connections on the plug pins in the outside temperature sensor.

Production change
Optimised outside temperature sensors (washed contacts and optimised crimp connection) from 06.05
From Chassis No.:
Audi A8: 4E 1 6N 004672
Resolution
If there is no disruption in the wiring to the outside temperature sensor (check according to the current flow diagram) and the measured value block in the dash insert (address 17) for the outside temperature sensor (for A8, A4, A3, A2: MVB 2, 4th value/for A6: MVB 4, 2nd value) clearly show a too low value, replace the outside temperature sensor with on optimised variant (green, blue or yellow mark). After the replacement drive the vehicle so that the new temperature values are displayed.

Note: Because of jolting or thermal expansion the disruption of the outside temperature sensor signal may only be temporary.
