The oil warning light is on, although there is enough oil in the engine.

Technical background

Because of the settings in the engine control unit the oil warning light comes on too soon.

 

Production change

Engine control unit changed.

A6 from engine control unit 4F0 910 402 L; M; N;

A8 from engine control unit 4E0 910 401 Q; R; S; T

 

Solution

Check the oil level with the dipstick on the warning engine 3 minutes after switching off the vehicle. Correct the oil if necessary.

If the oil level on the dipstick is between min. and max., update the engine control unit with the CD 4E0 906 961 K.

 

You will need a dealer with both the correct disk and a VAS, This can not be done with VCDS
