Problem
When cold the engine either doesn’t start at all or with a delay.

Technical background
May be due to spark plugs not working properly.
One of the following fault code entries with regards to the spark plugs needs to be filed in the incident memory.

5660 P161C spark plug cyl.. 3. disconnected
5661 P161D spark plug cyl. 4. disconnected
5662 P161E spark plug cyl. 5. disconnected
5663 P161F spark plug cyl. 6. disconnected
5664 P161G spark plug cyl. 7 disconnected
5665 P161H spark plug cyl. 8 disconnected

Resolution
The repair work described below should only be carried out if all required criteria (model/type, VIN, engine / gearbox letter, PR number(s), parts number, software status, coding, …) are exactly met. Otherwise the problem will not be solved by this remedial action and may lead to further repair work. In which case we reserve the right to reject billing on guaranty or any refunds for disassembled parts.

If, in the event of a problem, one or several spark plugs should not work then please always replaceall spark plugs.

Background: the other spark plugs may be pre-damaged.

For engine code letters: CAPA; CAMA; CAMB; there is no test procedure.
