If you have an AMI, there is no reason why anything that would come out to headphone jack shouldnt play through the car. Have you tried using normal headphones in the jack of the iphone, i suspect the connections may be different to take a mic in to account maybe

I have a 2G MMI and would like to be able to stream music from my Napster account on my iphone. I have tried using a AMI usb cable with a usb to 3.5mm jack adapter but this didnt work. I was thinking about updating the MMI firmware buying a bluetooth dongle. Would this work and which dongle would work. Many thanks in advance
